"I see the city lights all around me
Everyone's obscure
Ten million people each with their problems
Why should anyone care

And in Your eyes I can see
I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a Sea of Faces
Your body's the bread, Your blood is the wine
Because you traded Your life for mine

Sometimes my life it feels so trivial
Immersed in the greatness of space
Yet somehow you still find the time for me
It's then You show me Your love

If only my one heart
Was all you'd gain from all it cost
Well I know you would have still been a man
With a reason
To willingly offer your life"
Kutless- Sea of Faces

It's very easy to walk through this life and feel quite alone in the world. Even though things like cell phones, chat rooms, MSN, and ICQ have opened up the lines of communication; it's not uncommon to feel like just another face in the crowd.

Even though we'd like to think that the feeling of loneliness is something that happens to widows or the homeless or someone in prison, the truth is, deep down we all seem to have a longing in us that isn't being fulfilled through relationships with other people. Even Hollywood celebrities who are at the top of the world, are successful, are known by everyone, and have a lot of friends, admit to this deep loneliness inside.

Many people try to fill this void with sex, others use drugs, and then there are those who think if only they had more money then they would feel differently. So now we've arrived in a world where on the outside everything is looking really good. More now that ever, people are fulfilling their dreams, buying big houses, getting that perfect education, yet the suicide rate is skyrocketing and depression is rampant.

So what is this lonely void in us and why can't it be satisfied? Well, I believe what most of us are feeling is not due to an emotional state, but rather a spiritual one.

In truth, you and I were created for fellowship with God. Unfortunately, through our sin, we broke that fellowship and that is why each one of us walks around feeling like there is something missing. That feeling is not a lie our minds are feeding us, but rather Truth itself calling out for something more. Each one of us has a deep longing within for a relationship with God and whether we admit it or not, if that relationship isn't there we are going to feel unfulfilled and lonely.

Fortunately for us, God knew us well enough to know that we would need Him, both to get us through this life and into the next, and even more fortunately- He loved us enough that He paid the price to get us there.

You see; Jesus didn't die on the cross to become a symbol or a religious figure. He bore your sins and mine so that we could enter into fellowship with Him. He knew that we would mess up- He also knew that in order for us to have a relationship with a Holy God, that God would have to be the one to bridge the gap. There is no way you or I could have ever done it on our own.

So God in the flesh came to this earth and died for you and for me. And because of His gift of Grace, you and I can now have fellowship with God both in this life and in the next.

I don't know about you, but I got pretty tired of feeling lonely inside and although sin was fun, it didn't fulfill, so I accepted the gift that Christ gave me and I haven't been empty since. If you've never taken the opportunity to accept the sacrifice that Jesus made for you, why don't you pray this prayer with me, wherever you are:
Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner. I know that you died for my sins and that you offer me forgiveness. I would like to accept your free gift of salvation. Come into my heart and make it clean. Take your place in my life and fill the void.
I pray this in your precious name.
Amen.
If you just prayed that prayer with me, all of heaven is rejoicing because the Bible says heaven has a party when one sinner repents. If you did pray that prayer with me, I would love to hear about it and send you some free stuff that will help you to grow in your faith. Please send an email to madradioshow@hotmail.com.
