Every day we live and every breath we breathe, we are asked to believe a lie. The lie? This moment doesn't count.

We're told to believe this and we often do because in the comparison of a lifetime, what's one day after all we say?

But there's a problem that comes with believing that lie. One moment turns into two and that turns into a day, which turns into a week, which turns into a month, which turns into a year, which turns into a lifetime. In convincing ourselves that today doesn't count, all too often we end up believing that tomorrow doesn't either.

That's not what God would have us believe. If you read through the Bible, we see an opposite picture painted. A picture where every moment is a gift and in every moment there is an opportunity to make a difference whose effects can literally change the fate of someone for all eternity.

So I ask, does this moment count? And if your answer is anything other than yes, I encourage you to do a little soul searching.

You see God made each and every one of us for a reason. No matter what circumstances surrounded your birth and childhood, you are no accident- rather you are part of a divine plan that was hatched before the foundations of the earth was even laid.

Don't believe me? I can understand because for a while I didn't believe that either. I thought that my life had no value. I thought that I was a shy kid who more often got in the way than was of any help to anyone. But I found out that the way I viewed myself wasn't the same way God did.

In Psalm 139 it says:

"You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed."

Let me repeat part of that: every day of your life has been laid out and God saw you before you were even born. So let me ask you again, does every moment count?

The answer is yes. Every single moment of your life counts. You were created for a reason. The same God that saw you before you were even born has a plan for your life that includes living life to the fullest and a life filled with peace and joy in the midst of any circumstance that the world can throw your way.

You were planned in advance. You were planned for a purpose. Your were planned for a reason. God has given you each moment you receive. And each moment you receive can count for something eternal!
